Chapter 4 Blog....

Chapter 4 is titled Hardware for Education. This chapter discussed the basic parts of the computer; such as the PC. It also went on to talk about storage/ memory, the input and output devices. Examples of these would be the keyboard, the mouse, speakers, etc. The memory of a computer is important because it also helps the speed of your computer as well.As a future teacher, I found this chapter to be a little important just because it familiarized me again with the components of a computer.

This week we learned about concept mapping. I enjoyed this lesson because it gave me another idea I can do with my future students. Inspiration is a neat tool to use, not only as a teacher, but with your students as well. Using Inspiration I learned a lot and it is a very creative tool.

This week nothing interesting really happened. I've just been volunteering and doing school work. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving break, because I'm going to Michigan to visit my sister. We are going to have Thanksgiving for the first time in her new home. Aside from that, that's the only thing going on right now.

CH,1 blogg....

This chapter is a bit boring...... Not a good way to start off the chapter, since this book did cost $115.00!!!!! I was hoping for pop ups or something!! J/K.. Anywho, chapter one discussed the lovely world of computers and its componets such as networks, the internet, and ofcoarse ARCS. Chapter one also discussed how computers can be used hand in hand with education. For example, for research, bloggs,to develop personality and thinking skills.

Since the last class I really did not acquire any new skills, only because my weeks have been a little bit out of whack... I missed class on September the 11th, because my grandpa passed away, so to be honest, school work was the last thing on my mind. I've just been catching up and that's why my bloggs may be a bit out of order (Sorry).

One of my future plan is to teach second grade. I would like to teach first then get my masters (Hopefully a school can pay for it). If all goes well, I would like to become a college professor for the college of Human Sciences. Once I have taught in a university for a couple of years I would like to publish children books, and a guide for parents on the topic of communication. As my closing chapter in my life, I would love to build a school in an impovrished community. So many dreams and hopefully I will be blessed to accomplish all of them!

The websites that I found was one called "The Lesson Plan Page", I found this site to be very useful for teachers especially beginning teachers. This website provides new idea and activities teachers can do with their students. It has over 1000 FREE lesson plans in several subject areas that teachers can incorporate in their classroom. Not only does this website provides lesson plans, but teacher inspirational stories as well as ideas for school fundraisers. This website is a teacher's best friend!! Another website that I found interesting and useful was "Lessons Using Technology". This website is good for students to research and look for info for school projects. It puts a twist on research and it keeps students entertainted.

For the newsletter, I usually do it on MicrosofT Publisher, so since I did it on Microsoft Word it took a bit longer. Publisher has the templates already set up for newsletters so all you have to do it fill in the text boxes. On Microsoft Word it took a bit longer to format, but all in all it got the job done.

Kidspiration is a cool site for students. This site is great for visual learners like myself. It combines pictures, texts, and audio for the "organization of ideas". This site is a great tool to use inside and outside of class. I would incorporate this website in my future classroom.
